The Abacci Atlas is a collection of maps, flags and national anthems of countries around the world along with facts about their geography, history, demography, economy, politics and transport & telecommunications infrastructure. To find a country, just enter its name in the search box, or browse through the site index
Almost all the information on these pages is in the public domain. The majority was gathered from the CIA world fact book (year 2000 edition - available from Project Gutenburg). The maps and flag images are also from the CIA World Fact book (the on-line 2003 edition). Historic notes were taken from the US Department of State background notes, and the anthems were sourced from various sites (the best of which must be David's National Anthem Reference Page at national-anthems.net). This means is that you may use any of this material in your own projects (although a citation might be a good idea).
The text and images on the books and pictures pages, are under copyright. Please don't use these without permission. Of course, we'd love you to purchase any of the reasonably priced and quite excellent books and prints found on the book and picture pages, as we receive a commission from each transaction :-)
