A short play set as a fantasy about the prince of a subteranean race, Hagen of the Nibelungs, who is introduced to Western society after the poet: Gerald, accidently discovers his race and homeland.
Hagen has big plans to rule the world, and armed with the incredible wealth of his Nibelung nation (they are avoricious, dwarf like miners), he is soon in a position of tremendous power.
He's also hopelessly in love with Gerald's sister, Est - a love that's unrequited and which, of course, brings out the worst in Prince Hagen, handily demonstrating the corruption and greed which the author so obviously despised in the real world.
In the end the U.S. government comes to it's senses and legislates against Hagen's empire, and when earthly minions rebel he departs back to Nibelung, never to be seen again.
