Abaccipedia

About the Abaccipedia

Abacci > Abaccipedia

The Abaccipedia started from a Wikipedia snapshot taken in July 2004. Since then I've added entries from The Nuttall Encyclopaedia by James Wood and The Botanist's Companion, Vol. II by William Salisbury.

Originally I just wanted the information pertinent to the other areas of Abacci, but soon realised that it was a much more valuable resource in its entirity, and so the Abaccipedia came into being.

Because of the size of the database (over half a million entries) it's proved a little unwieldy to index. I've attempted to remedy this by splitting the index entries up by the first 2 letters of each title. Still, the best way to proceed is almost certainly via the search function, followed by casual browsing. Or you can just jump to a random location and proceed from there.

Have fun with it...
